Timber Harvesting
We have been involved in the timber
harvesting business for over 25 years. We have experience in all types
of timber harvesting; from chain saws and cable skidder to mechanized
logging to the latest innovation known as C-T-L (cut-to-length)
harvesting.
C-T-L is one of the most technically
advanced and safest ways to harvest timber. The trees are cut to proper
lengths in the woods, not on the landing. This results in a much smaller
area that is needed to load trucks. It also does a much neater job. The
logs and pulpwood are brought out of the woods on a forwarder, instead
of a skidder so, there is very little residual stand damage. The noise
of the machinery is less than a regular harvesting operation because two
very quiet machines are doing the job of five to six machines.
Here the Harvester acquires a tree and prepares to cut and trim.
The tree has been cut from the stump, and is now limbed and cut to a length that can be set by the operator.
